Seeing Sounds
Whilst in the caves in Matlock, I remember sitting in pitch darkness and listening to the sounds of the water droplets hitting the cave walls and floor. One droplet at a time, the sound defined the boundaries of the cave, slowly creating a kind of mental map of the space.
I like the way that the cave becomes a landscape within your head in this way, blending with your own inner world and creating a kind of psychological landscape that connects your inner and outer worlds. I would like to try drawing this effect as I listen to my recordings of the sounds.
