Over the Christmas period I visited my family back in the Cornish village where I grew up. I found that it really helped me reconnect the emotional link between myself and the natural world around me. Although I mostly spent this time relaxing, I tried to immerse myself in nature and I made some observational sketches, because I find that this enhances my ability to truly look at my surroundings. I particularly enjoyed sketching this tree stump I saw in the local woods known as 'Rapunzel's Wood'.
