Reductive Lino Printing

I created this lino print of a view of Attenborough Nature Reserve using a reductive technique. The image is created in stages- I first cut the parts that would remain white, and printed the remaining lino in the lightest colour (light orange). Next, I cut the parts that I wished to remain light orange, and printed the medium orange. Finally, I cut the parts that would remain medium orange and printed the remaining areas in red.

Since you're cutting the lino as you go, the process can only be carried out once, but you can print several copies of each stage in different colours, which allows for experimentation as you go.
